Fran Maas is the eastside?s only certified Tribal Bellydance teacher. She holds certifications as a Gypsy Caravan teacher as well as Collective Soul and Fat Chance Bellydance General Skills. Fran has been a student of dance for over three decades in styles that include jazz, tap, Ballet Folklorico, Irish step, African and of course belly dance. After studying Cabaret for 3 years, in 2000 she attended the Fat Chance belly dance intensive workshops where she fell in love with ATS. The fluid grace and inner consecutiveness of group improv resonated deep within her. Fran has had the privilege and honor to study under master Tribal teachers such at Carolena Nericco (Fat Chance Bellydance), Paulette Rees Denis (Gypsy Caravan), Rachel Brice (Bellydance Superstars and The indigo), , and many more. With a patient hand and sassy style she is able to cultivate confident and skilled students, even those who consider themselves movement and rhythmically challenged.

Fran is also the director of The Red Tent and the award winning student troupe Daughters of Dinah.
